Alaskan Air is a fine art photography book showcasing remote and wild Alaska with an emphasis on aerial perspectives. The book is designed so the large panoramic images lay flat without image loss in the middle. In addition to the unique aerial views, there are a number of intimate portraits of the flora and fauna taken at ground level. There are more than 120 color and black-and-white images.

Mark Stadsklev is a 20-year veteran float plane pilot and photographer who lives in Alaska. Mark's images have toured the state in numerous shows and have appeared in National Geographic and various international publications. The Anchorage Museum of History and Art has purchased his photography for their permanent collection.
With the steady hand of a veteran pilot and the sharp eye of a skilled photographer, Mark Stadsklev does a brilliant job of capturing Alaska from the aerial perspective. Of course there is the sweeping drama of the Alaska landscape, but Stadsklev also brings to the project an eye for detail and for the stunning visual patterns that are invisible from any other perspective. Alaskan Air is an important addition to the north country library, and an essential book for anyone interested in aerial photography. ---Richard Murphy, Photo Editor, Anchorage Daily News
Marks's birds-eye view from his plane allows him to capture amazing shots like I have never seen before. The colors are brilliant and show the true beauty of Alaska's scenery. --Shari Hart, Alaska Aviation Museum
