About the Author

Amber M. Parker was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota and spent much of her childhood near lakes and woods. She developed a fascination for critters early in life and could often be found playing with salamanders, frogs, turtles, striped gophers, and any other critter she could get her hands on. In grade school, Amber was nicknamed, Lizard Girl. Amber went to undergraduate school at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and later moved to Eastern North Carolina where she earned two graduate degrees. Though Amber developed a professional career in Human Resources, she never lost her childhood adoration of animals. Today, Amber lives in Eastern North Carolina with her ferret, Tootsie Monster, where she volunteers as an aquarium shark safety diver and writes stories to share her love of critters.
