From the Author

After writing and publishing Seven Tips to Make the Most of the Camino de Santiago I began the task of marketing it. I dove into the project with unbridled enthusiasm and energy. It took a while before I figured out what worked well for me and what didn't. I started concentrating on what worked and sales rose.

I was asked to give a workshop for writers outlining the techniques I used. Attendees took copious notes and stayed after to ask specific questions. I created handouts with some of the links so that note taking would be easier. I have given the workshop several times to several different writer's groups.

My notes kept expanding as I discovered more ways to market on the Internet. Recently I was asked to do a Webinar. I decided to make my notes more complete so that interested writers could get the details that I could not cover in a workshop or Webinar. The result was the book Marketing Your Book Using the Internet. It would take a couple of full day workshops to cover all the information contained therein.

Most of the techniques can be done for free. However, time and effort is required. If done with diligence, you will be rewarded with a wider audience and higher sales. Not all of the techniques will work for every author. Fiction is different from non-fiction. There are enough different strategies that any author can find the ones that make sense for their book.

I still give workshops and Webinars where I highlight concepts and techniques. The full in-depth information is covered in the book. It is reasonably priced ($12.95) in the hopes that those who need it can afford it. I'm not in the marketing services business, but I will be happy to answer any questions that readers have.

It is my sincere desire to help other writers achieve success with their books. Marketing Your Book Using the Internet will help.

Review

This book is a must-have reference tool for anyone thinking of publishing a book, or already published. Cheri's advice is easy to follow and well written, starting with how to get your book higher rankings on Amazon to preparing press releases and everything in between. I found the "Points to Remember" sections particularly helpful.

What sets this book apart is that Cheri is not trying to sell you a service on every other page. or make the process seem daunting.  As a writer and publisher, my advice is to read this book and follow Cheri Powell's instructions. By Antaeus Balevre
