Richard E. Fike is considered an authority on the history of the west. He founded the non profit "Museum of the Mountain West" in Montrose Colorado and is currently director and president of the board. (www.MountainWestMuseum.com). Fike worked for the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Northern Arizona, School of American Research, and served 29 years as an archaeologist with the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management, leading the programs in Utah and Colorado. He lives with his wife, Carol, in western Colorado.
