The Franklin Method teaches the practical elements of body design, emphasizing imagery for maximum efficiency. By using imagery, we are working directly with the nervous system which has been scientifically proven to be the fastest route to change the way we use our bodies.
Written by mind-body expert, movement educator, and the founder and director of the Franklin Method®, Eric Franklin, this book is filled with imagery techniques and exercises that are sure to leave you with happy feet.
Readers will learn about the power of imagery and will then be introduced to more than 40 movement techniques that incorporate Franklin Balls and Bands to help activate the muscles, improve proprioception, and provide a relaxing and rejuvenating self-massage to the feet and other areas of the body.
In Happy Feet, you’ll find:
The foot consists of 26 bones which form 33 joints. It also has over 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. Built to propel us as well as absorb enormous forces as we walk and run, the feet form a stable foundation that can benefit tremendously from the ball rolling exercises in this therapy ball exercises guide.

Eric is a mind-body expert, movement educator and the founder and director of the Franklin Method®, which uses dynamic imagery, anatomical embodiment and reconditioning movement exercises to improve how the body functions. He is a former dancer who teaches his techniques at workshops and universities worldwide, including the Julliard School in New York, the Royal Ballet School and the Laban Center in London. Eric earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Zurich and a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is the author of more than 20 books.
Ball rolling is much more effective if you include imagery. The imagery focuses your attention in the right place and helps to initiate the movement in the proper way. It also helps to relax the muscles and release the connective tissue. Imagery is a mental representation of a metaphor or movement without actually performing the movement or becoming the metaphor.
