Author Dan Trujillo describes, in lesson format, the three most difficult years of his life and how they changed him forever. Within that time frame, he dealt with the death of his sister, battled heart failure, survived a heart transplant, and struggled to beat cancer. From the beginning pages, the reader is drawn into the events that Dan faced that seemed to be both spiritually crushing and physically exhausting. Using personal and poignant reflections, he lists how each lesson played a vital roll in his survival while exposing the hidden beauty that life can possess in a personal crisis.
