What Happens to Our Pets After They Die? As a professional dog trainer and animal behavior specialist, I consult with numerous people who bring in their new dog for the first time. We often end up talking about another dog from before, and frequently the tears begin to roll down their cheeks. Some feel guilty that even the death of a parent or loved one was not as traumatic as the loss of that dog. I had that kind of deep love for my first dog, Erikka. So, I looked for jobs where I could take Erikka with me-ultimately leading me to a career in dog training. As you come to know Erikka in this true story, you will be able to embrace the gift she left behind as she communicated to me from her deathbed: Dogs Do Go to Heaven! But the story doesn't end there ... Humbled during Erikka's passing, pleading to the heavens above, I heard a voice that day. It said, "SHE WILL BE REPLACED WITH SOMETHING MUCH GREATER." I am sharing intimate details of my personal life so that you can accompany me on my quest to discover what could possibly be GREATER. I couldn't keep it to myself. This story is meant to be shared.

Karyn Garvin refers to herself as a professional dog trainer and animal behavior specialist. There are only a handful of people in this country today who have been training dogs professionally for as long as Karyn has. Professionally being the key word here. This has been her livelihood, working at it six days per week for over 33 years. She was a professional dog trainer before it was really even known as, or considered, a profession. As a young child, she moved with her family from Iowa to India, where she was deeply affected as she experienced the harsh realities and living conditions of that country. She was left with a burning desire to help others, and to make a difference in the world. That experience, along with her college studies in behavior modification, contribute to making Karyn the trainer she is today. Much of what drives Karyn is her commitment to saving pets lives. Too many dogs and cats are relinquished by their owners because of behavioral issues that were not dealt with effectively. Karyn has discovered numerous opportunities to be instrumental in the field of pet training through her own inventive solutions. A key way in which Karyn measures her own success is by finding needs and filling them. Her business today, Garvin s Pet Plaza, represents an integrated group of businesses, each one offering unique solutions to create harmony between people and their pets. Karyn prays that this book will fill a need in people s hearts for years to come. You can help her help others by sharing it with your friends. Thank You!
