Author, speaker, and thought leader Bob Kelleher tackles corporate malaise in this thought-provoking narrative, which follows newly retired management consultant Joe Daniels in an exploration of what's missing in business today. In reflecting on his career and interacting with his now-grown children, Joe comes to recognize that strong leadership and employee satisfaction alone will no longer be key to a a healthy, sustainable business. In this era of instant global communication, dramatic shifts in global workforce demographics, and the speed of change, organizations must focus and invest in on six interrelated ingredients (Purpose, Employee Engagement, High Performance, Innovation, Tri-Branding, and Global Growth). Those that don't, cannot expect to thrive. Complete with extensive resources to help organizations of any size or specialty begin their own journey, Creativeship is a must-read for all current and evolving leaders.

AUTHOR'S STATEMENT
Over my years helping companies reap the tremendous benefits associated with employee engagement, I have become aware that engagement by itself is only part of the puzzle. It is a critically important part, but one that must exist in service of a larger goal: Creativeship.
Employee engagement, profit, growth, and client satisfaction by themselves are not sustainable. Even solid and inspired leadership is no longer enough; we've all seen once-thriving companies led by very talented people falter if not fail outright.
I've often defined leadership as distinct from management, which is concerned with things, data, and processes, classifying it instead as the ability to lead people, build followship, and make money. But I have come to realize that that definition is archaic. What businesses need is Creativeship: a paradigm shift that encompasses leadership while taking it several steps farther.
As bestselling books by authors such as Patrick Lencioni have demonstrated, there is an entrenched and growing desire on the part of readers for management books that are entertaining as well as informative. By presenting Creativeship's concepts in the form of a relatable narrative, readers can more easily see how the concepts it explores are applicable in real-life situations. The novel's concluding chapter sees Joe Daniels deliver a triumphant speech that is the summation of everything that he has learned in the preceding story. While Creativeship is chock-full of usable data, the "fable" format provides a refreshing alternative to business books full of dry facts and figures. And for those hungry for more business-speak information, Creativeship's appendix provides practical business take-aways and suggested resources
Leadership Is No Longer Enough!
Joe Daniels ought to be looking forward to a relaxing retirement: filled with golf, reading, and time with his three kids. After all, he's wrapping up a satisfying if occasionally frustrating career in management consulting. So why, as he celebrates this new phase of his life with friends and colleagues, does he feel so uneasy?
Because all around him, he is seeing signs that his long-held definition of "leadership" is no longer enough to sustain most businesses. Leadership has necessarily morphed into Creativeship - the need to build SUSTAINABLE businesses and cultures.
In this timely and relevant fable, author Bob Kelleher provides the roadmap to a new paradigm that organizations of all sizes and specialties can - and indeed must - evolve toward in order to thrive... and perhaps even survive. Though Joe is a fictitious character, his experiences, anecdotes, lessons, and recommendations are very real.
Join Joe on a journey of revelation, reminiscence, and the occasional regret, as he discovers the new path that is Creativeship.
