His portrait photography ranges from Orson Welles, Bette Davis, Andy Warhol, David Bowie and Iman, Anna Nicole Smith, and Audrey Hepburn to Oprah, Hubert de Givenchy, Diana Ross, Diahann Carroll, President Barack Obama (when he was just a US Senator from Illinois), former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, and Cindy Crawford (whose first notable photographs were his). In his new book, Skrebneski explores many memories from his distinguished career, in photographs and words by Anthony Jones, and gives the reader insight into his life as he approaches his 85th birthday. About the Author:
Born in 1929, Victor Skrebneski is a photographer whose parents were of Polish and Russian heritage. He was educated at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1943 and attended the Illinois Institute of Technology from 1947 to 1949. He then set up his own photography studio on Chicago's North Side in 1952, where he still works today.
