Selected from hundreds of submissions by New York Times–bestselling author Lauren Groff, the 10 stories in this anthology represent the talented new voices in fiction and creative nonfiction. This is a collection that showcases America’s next bestselling authors—the who’s who of emerging talent—exclusively through previously unpublished work. The authors showcased here are all students currently enrolled in graduate-level creative-writing programs across the country.

Lauren Groff is a writer whose short stories have appeared in a number of journals, including the Atlantic Monthly, Glimmer Train, the New Yorker, One Story, and Ploughshares, and in the anthologies Best American Short Stories 2007, Best American Short Stories 2010, Best New American Voices 2008, and Pushcart Prize XXXII. She is the author of Arcadia, Delicate Edible Birds, and The Monsters of Templeton. She lives in Gainesville, Florida.
“The Masters Review is a welcome addition to the long list of American literary journals. The prose, by turns quiet, experimental, and starkly honest, ranges widely in subject matter and style, but is always of high quality.” —George Estreich, Oregon Book Award winner and author, The Shape of the Eye
