WHO SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK? Business leaders, college students, employees, managers, educators, clergy... There is something for everyone.
Though the economy seems to be turning around, the impact of the most recent recession has drained the emotional and motivational psyche of employees across the country. The Practical Prof’s mission is to help employees and their employers renew their spirit and recharge their energy so employee satisfaction and productivity can flourish once again. Written specifically to inspire, challenge complacency and provide effective practical strategies to achieve greater personal achievement. Readers will find freedom to bring their personal ethics to work, work challenges will seem more manageable, the way people interact with co-workers will be more authentic and productive, and the impact on the reader will include enriching their personal satisfaction and contentment.
“The Practical Prof - is a leadership handbook for the innovative leader in all of us, across the three sectors, and has special significance for the leaders in the social sector where our battle cry is "to serve is to live.” Frances Hesselbein, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hesselbein Leadership Institute and former CEO, Girl Scouts of the USA
“Leaders in the entertainment industry would benefit from The Practical Prof's lessons - quirky, fun and engaging; plus, keeping the energy going through web chats is a built-in sequel where the audience keeps on learning.” Barbara Herndon, Writer Rugrats in Paris and Acquisitions Editor, Zondervan/Harper Collins

About the Author For Dr. Santo D. Marabella, teaching has always been at the heart of his passion. And, practicing what he teaches as a consultant, community organizer and now, a writer - is what gives voice to The Practical Prof. A real-life college management professor at Moravian College, Marabella enjoys being your personal work-life advisor. A Professor of Management at Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA, Marabella received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University, an MBA from Erivan K. Haub School of Business at St. Joseph s University and a Doctor of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania s School of Social Policy and Practice. His practical experience and consulting includes work and research in business management, social work, the performing arts and not-for-profit boards. In addition to his teaching, he has held a variety of leadership positions, both at the College and in the community. He founded, headed and leads a number of not-for-profit organizations and programs, including a film commission, arts council and a community leadership program. He has consulted for, or spoken to, more than 75 regional and national organizations and companies. Even his research is practical and includes creating an orientation program for new members of not for profit boards of directors and a model for training customer service personnel. Currently, Marabella serves as: Film Commissioner for ReadingFilm, a division of the Greater Reading Convention & Visitors Bureau; Chair, Alumni Council of the School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania; and, Chair, Board of Trustees, Greater Reading Alliance of Community Theatres. Other writing by Marabella include his plays My Inside Out, a one-act play about self-discovery, Baile, Abuela! , a two-act musical production showcasing salsa dance, Senior Exploits a play aimed at preventing scams among senior citizens, and Symphony of Dreams, an original musical combining his script with songs written by his musician-father. A native of Reading, PA, but born in Italy, Marabella is the only child of Anna & Sam spoiled but not a brat (his words, not theirs), and resides in Fleetwood, with his fur-child, Rafaelle (pictured below), a flat-coated retriever who has been mostly patient during the writing of this book.
