Poetry. Young Adult. The story of Malala and her struggles is gripping; this account is a work of poetry by Lyn Lifshin, an important American poet. This is not journalism, rather it is a work that is best suited for poetry, a deeply personal work where the poet reveals, through compassion and insight, some moments of revelation. The people it discusses are real, but the insights and details are poetic. The events in this book are contemporary and sometimes controversial and it is the poet's mandate to present the depth of her understanding and then allow the work to speak for itself.
