A Prisoner of Mars: A Princess For Sale by Rob Dorsey ventures back to Barsoom and the city of Helium, which has suffered a great loss. The Daughter of Ten Thousand Jeddaks, Princess Dejah, is nowhere to be found. The terrible loss happened when her air ship was shot from the sky and, when the wreckage was found, there was no sign of her body at all. The royal family believes perhaps Princess Dejah was abducted, but there has been no ransom demand. Princess Dejah's son and his wife set off with a collection of brave warriors to solve the mystery once and for all.

Another solid installment of the Mars series by Rob Dorsey that I enjoyed for the entire time I was reading it. We delve deeper into the world of the characters that Mr. Dorsey has created, while still giving a nod and a hello to those we came to love from the John Carter series. For me, this kind of blend is the absolute perfect mix of familiar and new and exciting. Darus is once again setting out to show his courage with the love of his life, his wife, by his side.

There is no shortage of adventure, twists, turns and action in this book. You will find yourself entertained from the first page to the last, and maybe you will figure out the end game before our fantastic warriors do, but then again maybe you won't. You could probably read this as a stand-alone, but the characters have more depth and meaning if you have read the previous book in the series. Either way, this one gets another 'highly recommended' from me!

A Prisoner of Mars: A Princess For Sale by Rob Dorsey is a science fiction story that takes us thousands of miles through space. On Mars there is a parallel universe called Barsoom by its people. The Crown Princess Dejah Thoris' airship is attacked and the princess is missing. No one knows who the attackers were or whether the princess is alive or dead. Without her body, the Royal Family assumes that her unknown attackers abducted her, but no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, and no ransom has been requested. So Prince Darus of Helium and his wife, Princess Zurah, set off to find Darus' mother and return her to her throne. They begin an epic journey that covers countless terrains and connects them with strange creatures and treacherous people. But they know they must be strong and hold on to their courage if they plan to bring Princess Dejah Thoris back to her people.

I liked the epic scale of A Prisoner of Mars: A Princess For Sale. Rob Dorsey created this fantastic quest for Darus and Zurah to undertake and I liked that we knew the stakes for the characters very early on. This story is about life or death, and that made the action seemed heightened and more important to me. I really appreciated that. The action scenes were written splendidly. Dorsey definitely has a talent for writing fast paced scenes and sweeping the reader into the action. I also liked the mystery and the intrigue in this story.
