About the Author

In 1998, Kelly (Craig) Schaefer won awards in the National Cheerleading competitions, but in 1999, when a drunk driver rendered her a quadriplegic, she lost all her athletic ability. She has traveled to hundreds of Midwest schools to share her story, demonstrating how the human spirit, combined with personal faith and the support of loved ones, can overcome challenges and enable others to succeed beyond their wildest imagination. "An inspirational story and well-written book! I walk around thinking about Kelly. I roll over in bed and realize Kelly can't do that simple task. How lucky I am that I can remove the bed covers when I'm hot, something Kelly can't do. I admire Kelly. Early chapters seamlessly transitioned from four different points of view so I understood their role in the accident and felt like I was them.  I'm going to buy copies to give to others who are feeling down, and hope Kelly's contagious and winning attitude will influence them as much as it has inspired me."
