Intersections of Grace: Reflections on a LIfe of Faith grew out of a series of devotional talks Kerr delivered to her Bible study group. After receiving encouragement from so many, she turned the talks into a collection of essays and prayers. God's Word, nature, pets, travel and daily life inspired the writings. What makes them unique is Kerr's ability to take experiences and reflect on them in light of her faith, teasing out the ordinary profound lessons for all of us. If we are attentive, she writes, we can see the intersections of God's grace at every step of our journey. Her hope is that these essays will invite readers into some standing-still times and then to move forward with God as a walking partner, alert to the intersections of grace that crisscross everyone's path with the power to renew, restore, and transform lives.

A graduate of the University of Texas, she lives in San Antonio with her husband, author of four successful historical fiction novels. Aside from being a dedicated writer, Susan is passionate about photography, particularly landscape and travel photography.
Your use of scripture, poetry, songs, hymns is particularly significant and helpful in moving the reader to share in your experience. And they all cause the reader to think and to meditate. The Revd Dr. Louis H. Zbinden, Jr. --Foreword: Intersections of Grace
I believe that when a person begins to realize the immensity of God's love for His creation, and the discovery of His love through Christ, their heart can begin to seek ways by which it can share that Good News. In a most poignant and personal way, Susan Kerr has accomplished just that.
By choosing to slow down her pace as she has traveled through life, the reader has been given the opportunity to feel Susan's keen awareness as she describes how the eyes of her heart have been opened to the incredible ways in which God's love is revealed.
Even though she may not be acquainted with her reading audience, Susan suggests that perhaps one might unintentionally limit their awareness of God's presence or even seek ways by which to build walls in order to create a sense of security. However, Susan believes that if one will allow the eyes of their heart to be opened, they will receive a wonderful gift packaged in a beautiful and personal way as she illustrates not only God's presence but also the various ways in which she has recognized His love in all things - even things as small as butterflies, lady bugs and spiders. Indeed, the reader has been given a broader and keener vision that will allow them to stand on tip toe in order to view their own personal God-filled journey.
As a writer who chooses to share feelings as opposed to just presenting facts, I do so appreciate Susan's deep sensitivity and keen awareness of the life that we all experience as we make our individual journeys. Can we slow our pace down so that we too can see those things which may seem trivial in the eyes of the world, but nevertheless are daily signposts of our loving God? I truly hope so.
