About the Author

Judy Patrick was born in 1959 in Southern California, and decided to be a photographer when she was twelve years old. Her first real photo job was in Wasilla, Alaska as the darkroom technician at The Frontiersman, where she became that newspaper s first staff photographer in 1982. During the mid-1980s she spent the winter in Arizona and landed a job photographing industrial scenes. After returning to Alaska in the summer of 1987, she started photographing the DMTS road construction project north of Kotzebue. One thing led to another and soon she was shooting for another contractor in Prudhoe Bay. Over time she began taking pictures for most of the oilfield service and oil companies, and continues to do so to this day. She currently lives and works in Alaska.
