About the Author

They say life begins at 50. I kept adding to that until I passed 80. The counting didn't help, so I decided life ended yesterday and begins wherever I am today.
I was born poor during the great depression. The greatness of the Great  Depression forms a dim gloss when seen through poverty. It was, however, a good teacher for a do it yourself life. I am a self taught writer, poet, novelist, and blogger.
I worked in the USAF as a navigation systems technician, master missile technician, 3-4 months as a military policeman, and am a Korean War veteran. I have been Stationed in Asia and Europe. In the USAF Strategic Air Command I was stationed In Texas, Alaska and places in between. I retired from the USAF in 1972.
I immediately went to work in the Aerospace Division of a Private corporation as an electronic technician. I became a senior engineering assistant. I was a depot manager and project leader on some contracts. I worked on many interesting military and civilian equipment projects.
After 20 years, I had enough of it. I decided to retire. I taught myself to do what I wanted to do instead of what I had to do. What I want to do is write. The results of that decision are available for your pleasure.

From the Back Cover

Plask and Rakoup came bounding out of their spit as Jeonk and Shok leaped out of theirs. they were safe from the large cave entrances , but the guy across the canyon kept firing. They had nowhere to go. There was no cover they could get to without being shot down by pirates in caves on either side of them, or the guy directly across the canyon. The four of them were pinned down tight. The downed Dragon spits were their only cover, and the cover kept disappearing as the gunner across the canyon chewed the Spits into smaller and smaller pieces with each burst from his laser.

The heat from the burning Dragon spits became intense. The Spits were getting too small for protection. The constant pounding by the laser hits were reducing them to nothing. Time was running out. Rakoup's radio transmission was quick and urgent. "You fighters get down here fast, and clear the cave across the canyon with your pulse cannons."
Four Fighters dived down, one split second after the other, firing into the cave entrance before each fighter thrusted out. Suddenly, there was one hell of an explosion inside the cave. Fire, filled with the remains of whatever they were storing in the cave, came shooting across the canyon floor like a freight train from hell coming right at them. The four off them dived away from the center of the oncoming stream of fire to the paltry cover they found behind the fiery remains of their chewed up Dragon Spits.
The fire burned out before it swallowed them. The Dragon Spits gave them some cover from the cave spewed debris. All four of them were covered with dirt carried by the explosion, but none were hurt. Jeonk remarked, "There were at least two men in the cave across the canyon."
Shok looked up at from his dirt filled refuge and asked, "How do you know; did you take roll call before the explosion?" Jeonk pointed behind him and there, stuck against the canyon wall, were two burned up bodies.
