I like to call this my "The Scarlet Letter meets Sherlock Holmes meets Chuck" novel. I was inspired to write Poppy's story because I believe in the power of the human spirit to triumph over the hardest obstacles. I believe in strong women, in finding a quiet strength that you didn't know you had. As a fallen woman, Poppy has to fight not only for societal acceptance, but for her own self-worth. She must discover who she is as a mother, a factory worker, and a woman. I wanted to show that we are not the sum of our mistakes, but rather instead what we choose to do with our lives.

Thaddeus is the man Poppy thinks she doesn't deserve, but Thaddeus is a flawed creature too. Their love story is one of redemption, but it is also that of two people coming to accept that they will never lead perfect lives. The beauty of the bond they have together is in their imperfections.

I hope you enjoy Poppy and Thaddeus's story as much as I did.
