From start to finish, the power of joy has been my guide in writing this book. Finally --I practice what I preach and experience the difference it makes in my life and others. I would like you to experience the natural flow of joy in your life and in all that you do for our furry friends. It is an incredible honorable journey to give to animals. Actions that come from the innate joy contain the contagious, compelling power that is needed for us to unite together and create a kinder world for all living beings
About the Author
Linda R. Harper, Ph.D., has been a clinical psychologist for over thirty years in private practice with her husband in the Chicagoland area. As the founder of Blessed Bonds, a foster-based program and an advocate all of her life, she understands the unique challenges of following one's passion to help the animals. Dr. Harper gives workshops and individual consults on understanding and managing the stress that comes with loving and giving to animals. She is an international speaker and has presented at animal welfare organizations and shelters, veterinarian hospitals, and conferences throughout the country, as well as internationally, including Canada, Bali and Egypt. She leads the annual Giving Heart Retreat: Nurturing the Animal Lover’s Soul with Faith Maloney at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. She facilitates WINGS, the pet loss support group for the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Harper is the author of Eat: A Guide to Discovering your Natural Relationship with Food, Give: A Guide to Discovering the Joy of Everyday Giving, Give to Your Heart's Content . . . Without Giving Yourself Away, and The Tao of Eating: Feeding Your Soul through Everyday Experiences with Food.
