Chip Beck, a high school sophomore at the time of writing, wrote his first app in between his seventh and eighth grade year. His first app, a very basic calculator app, was published on the App Store when he was only thirteen. The amazing feeling of being published on the App Store encouraged Chip to continue with his app development. Through the years to come, Chip developed a total of fifteen apps independently while he founded Ch1pa Software and still went through a normal school life. When asked what kind of apps he makes, he jokes with a simple "Whatever comes to mind!" , and then shows his questioner a few apps that range from an anti-joke generator to an app developed in Simplified Chinese that incorporates a variety of Chinese social networks and messaging services. Chip lives in a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania with his parents and sister (who is away at college). Whenever Chip isn't coding or going to school, he is playing his saxophone and piano, playing tennis, performing in a musical, or sleeping.
