What if the ways you think about yourself, the world and everyone in it were the human equivalent of your own internal 'operating system'?
What if you could upgrade that operating system, evolving it as radically now as you did as a child? You'd suddenly find it easier to:
Upgrade is a practical manual for revolutionising the way you look at yourself, your work and the people around you. Not only that, it'll help you trigger the same kind of step-change in others.

Richard is a psychologist specialising in driving organisational performance by improving the quality of leadership, followership and team performance - whether that's working with individuals, teams, groups or whole organisations. He has consulted on six continents with the likes of BT, Credit Suisse, numerous charities, Ernst & Young, Gucci, Heineken, government agencies, the military, the NHS, Nickelodeon, Rolls-Royce, Shell, Siemens, Southampton Football Club, Virgin and Vodafone. He's also enjoyed relationships with London, Henley and Oxford-Said Business Schools, and Dublin's Trinity College. He's the author of two previous books - 'ARC Leadership: from surviving to thriving in a complex world' and 'The Boss Factor: 10 lessons in managing up for mutual gain' - co-wrote Henley Business School's 2013 'future of leadership development' report, and is a contributing author in The Practitioner's Handbook of Team Coaching.
Karen Ellis has 30 years' experience as a management consultant, 20 of which she has spent focused on individual and organisational change. For the past 17 years, she has been heavily involved in the field of adult development. She started her explorations with Harthill and the frameworks developed by Bill Torbert and David Rooke, then - as a bricoleur by nature - she extended her knowledge and practice across the field, integrating the work of a bewildering array of authors and researchers. Her private sector clients have included Barclays, Danone, Fujitsu, Sony and Virgin Media. She has also worked extensively in the public sector - for instance, with NHS Leadership, the Civil Service College and the Leadership Centre for Local Government - helping senior leaders develop their capacity to lead in highly ambiguous and uncertain environments. Karen has an MSc in Change Agent Skills and Strategies from the University of Surrey.
"A really important book... timely and vital... does what previous authors in this field have tried and failed to do... profound depth and immediate application." Peter Young, Bladon Leadership

"Fresh... engaging... practical... infectious... concepts you'll recognise... and want to share..." Michael Borthwick, Claranet
"You'll feel compelled to use it... a reference you'll keep coming back to." Danielle Lewis, Southampton Football Club
