Do we know what the historical changes were in a multidisciplinary/inter-disciplinary organisation? 8. Do we know why a multidisciplinary/inter-disciplinary organisation changed over time? 9. Do we know how multidisciplinary/inter-disciplinary organisations have changed (evolved) to their current states? Many people find it difficult to answer these questions. The reasons being that, as a member of a Profession/Discipline and/or a multidisciplinary/inter-disciplinary organisation, the focus may be primarily on the research work and applied practices being produced in the professional and organisational fields – which is the motivation and/or a requirement of being a member. However, gaining answers to the above questions can move one to look ‘outside the box’ and provide an understanding of knowledge/skills that are essential to continue professional learning and development.
