A cabin on a lake - a haven for people at the crossroads of their lives.
Frankie Alvarez hasn't spoken to her overbearing father in three years, not since she moved to Fortune Bay. She has a teaching job at the high school and has bought a pretty bungalow on Majestic Lake, but her father still sends her a check every month - never a note, just the check - and every month she rips it up.
Then Sean Murphy moves into the cabin next door and everything seems to change overnight. Sean is just the kind of successful young exec' Frankie's father would want her to marry. But if she were looking for a husband - which she is not - it would be for someone completely different. Trouble is, Sean's so darn charming, and cooks like a dream, and her resolve to shut him is out slipping away.
But sometimes the man of your dreams turns out to be your worst nightmare.
When Sean discovers Frankie hasn't spoken to her father in years, he can't help stepping in. He 'd give anything to know where his daughter is.

Welcome to Fortune Bay.
This is a story about fathers and daughters:Frankie's troubled relationship with her own father that is preventing her from finding meaningful relationships with men in her life; and Sean's troubles that began years ago when, as a teen, he gave up a daughter for adoption.
The stories of women who give up babies are painful and poignant, but often known. At least among women. The fathers have seldom been allowed a voice and, even today, many carry the loss with them silently for years. In this book, I wanted to give them that voice.
Readers have told me they'd like to know more about Stephanie, the matriarch of this series so, in The Good Neighbor, Stephanie gets her own story, and a bit of romance.
I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for reading.

A review from a reader -"...This book is much more than a romance. There is a mystery going on, only hints thrown out at first, until it suddenly bursts to the forefront. And there is a painful secret that has to come out in order for Sean to really move forward. As always, this author draws her characters into life. They step from the pages and into your imagination."
From another Amazon reader -
"This book was such a great addition to this series. I loved - LOVED - Sean and Frankie together as a couple, even before they officially became one.Their friendship was so organic and sweet that I loved all of the scenes between them. Their personal stories were both gritty and so incredibly real that I found myself unable to stop thinking about them(specifically Sean's plight, holy cow) even when I was away from the book. I know everyone says this, but it was so difficult for me to put this one down to do 'real life' things. I just wanted to be able sit in a quiet room and read this book from cover to cover without interruption so that I could find out what happened. The story line with Max and Stephanie (who I adore!) was unexpected, but so very sweet. If ever abook character deserved a Happily Ever After, it would be Stephanie Murphy."
