Synopsis

You are not alone if you believe domination and authoritarian patriarchy are destroying countless lives and our planet.  There is a more sustainable alternative and it's not new.  In fact it's ancient.  Exiled for a time, but making a return, the Sacred Feminine has become indelibly integrated into our lives, reminding humanity during this time of crisis that the ideals of the Great She offer a pathway to secure a more sustainable future.  As people lose faith in organized religion, as the paradigm of power shifts across the globe, as climate change quickly approaches a point of no return, people are leading using their divine intelligence gleaned from Goddess teachings to find solutions and sanctuary.

We are witnessing this awakening across the globe as people from all walks of life and cultures turn to Goddess, deity, archetype and ideal, to evolve from the malignant chaos we face today.  Using the wisdom and activism suggested in Goddess 2.0: Advancing a New Path Forward we see through the lens of spiritual, cultural and political leaders sharing the many ways Goddess Spirituality has grown and matured in the minds of Her advocates to inspire the birth of a new world and usher in a time of security, partnership, peace, equality and prosperity for all.

From the Inside Flap

Short Introduction
A new path forward....
We are blessed with an alternativeto the powers of domination and authoritarian patriarchy that do not supportthe health of society and our planet. The ancient and wise concepts and idealsembodied in the notion of the SacredFeminine, which offer pathways toa more sustainable future, teach us that there is an alternative to living inthe crises of our present day. As the paradigm of power shifts across theglobe, we reframe our faith in organized religion. And as climate changequickly approaches a point of no return, we begin to use the divineintelligence gleaned from the Sacred Feminine to lead and to find solutions andsanctuary.

Our mythology shapes our culture, and history's focus on male deities eventually led to imbalances in leadershipstructures that promoted domination, control and more forceful forms ofrelating. Scholars of matriarchal studies and egalitarian societies, have longrecognized that cultures centered around the Sacred Feminine create morebalanced and peaceful societies. Ancient Crete was an example of such asociety, as was Çatalhöyük, Turkey. Unfortunately, at some point, Goddess waspushed aside, as were her ideals of nurturing, caring, sharing and concern forthe common good, and over time, such egalitarian societies of peace andpartnership were overrun by aggressive tribes that revered wargods. While Goddess mythology may not seem immediately relevant toour everyday lives, we can connect the dots between the loss of a feminine faceof god and the state of pay inequity for women. Without Goddess, we havepatriarchal religions where women are conditioned to believe they'resecond-class citizens, meant to submit to their husbands; and many women neverlead an authentic life or reach their fullest potential.

Without the Sacred Feminine, we alsoend up with political systems in which women are not free to choose what theycan and cannot do with their own bodies. Around the world, women suffer genitalmutilation, are subject to arranged marriages, or in some cases, are forced towear burqas against their will. Most of us can think of other forms ofoppression suffered by women in the United States, as well as across theglobe. Patriarchy has been destructive and demoralizing not only towomen, though; it affects Mother Earth and even men, too. There is a directconnection between societies that oppress or exploit women and the destructionof Mother Earth and her inhabitants. And patriarchy also prevents men frombeing their authentic and whole selves, as they strive to live according toman-made dogma or rules determined by religion, culture, or popular society.

The Sacred Feminine provides a pathforward for a more whole, healthy and sustainable future for most of us, and Sheis being embraced by folks from many walks of life. We can witness thisparadigm shift in politics as some political candidates are calling forpolicies that benefit the "we" and the "us," also recognized as the 99 percent, rather than the "I" and the "me," represented by the one percent. In abetter world of the future, all our boats float, and we are no longer subjectto the corruption of predator capitalism, where corporations take advantage ofemployees and deny them adequate benefits. Greed and exploitation are not theway of the Sacred Feminine. Instead, advocates of Goddess promote generosity, compassion and partnership.

Goddess 2.0 offers many voices whobelieve sacred feminine liberation thealogy just might help us save the world!
