In Hall of Fame women's basketball coach Sylvia Hatchell's new book, Hatchell walks readers through her bout with acute myeloid leukemia at age 61, one of the most serious forms of cancer for a woman of her age. Throughout the book, Hatchell discusses the factors that helped her remain positive and continue to fight, no matter what unfolded in her treatments. Her story challenges readers to examine how they are using their hearts and minds in the eye of the storm, inspiring all to keep fighting and press on instead of sinking into despair or negativity.

"I met Sylvia Hatchell in 1994 when I was working at ESPN and her Tar Heels won the NCAA national championship. When I interviewed her I could tell that she was a woman who had an incredible perspective on life. We've been good friends ever since. I called her often during her fight with leukemia and always hung up the phone feeling the same way I had when we first met more than a decade before. Inspired. Thank you and bless you, Sylvia, for transparently sharing your story and empowering others to overcome whatever challenges they may be facing."
-Robin Roberts, Good Morning America
"When I first heard about her diagnosis, I called her, thinking to encourageher...She did not dwell on it and met the challenge head on, determined to win.She exercised every day in the hospital. When people called, she turned theconversation toward raising money to find a cure. When she heard of othersin the same fight, she encouraged them...With this book, she continues to dothat today. Thanks, Sylvia, for your words of encouragement and for once againleading the fight."
-Roy Williams, University of North Carolina men's basketball coach
"I started reading this book and couldn't put it down until I was finished. Every word she writes is worth reading. It humbled me. Convicted me. Encouraged me. Uplifted me. Instructed me. It also opened my eyes in a fresh way to the depth of Sylvia's character."
