About the Author
Ron Paul was born on August 20, 1935 in Pennsylvania. After attending Gettysburg College and Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Paul served 5 years in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard as a flight surgeon. Upon retiring from the military, Dr. Paul practiced medicine as an OB-GYN in Brazoria County, Texas, where he delivered over 4,000 babies. Dr. Paul was first elected to Congress in 1976 and served 12 terms. A three-time presidential candidate, Dr. Paul ran on a platform of non-interventionism which attracted wide support among young voters as well as members of the military. In both 2008 and 2012, Dr. Paul received more political contributions from active and retired members of the military than all of the other candidates of either Party combined. Dr. Paul has been married to his wife, Carol Paul, for 58 years and together they have 5 children and 19 grandchildren.
