Finding Joy is an exploration by the author, now in his 80s, of his life, focusing on memorable experiences that have brought him joy. Such experiences often rose from deep recesses of his mind from long ago, remembered clearly as he wrote. The chapters are a diverse assortment of stories—living abroad, travel, sports, music, friendships, opinions, learnings, and more—presented in an accessible way. The author hopes that sharing his experiences will encourage readers to greater appreciate their own lives. As a bonus, an appendix is also included, a journal co-authored by David and Ginny Packer of their 1998 trip to China, chronicling the then-unusual trip that demystified their view of that country at the turn of the century.
