Finally found the time to read this summer and go on a journey with an author my family knows very well. The journey of John's life takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions within a tale of a young boy who would not be defined by his troubled upbringing, but by his strong character as he slowly developed into an extremely compassionate and unconditionally loving man, husband, father, friend, and encourager. If most of us only had an ounce of his unwavering determination and grace in this life, what a better world this would be. An unpretentious read for gaining great insight into how our environment and genes interact to impact the trajectory of our life (both good and bad) - in reading this book, my life was impacted for good!
