I first discovered this author in 1997 when he wrote the first book in this series A SONG FOR THE ASKING. It was then, and still is, one of the best books I've read. I don't believe the author actually meant this to be a series (I could be wrong) but there was a gap between the first book and the second book KANE.

I am so glad he continued the story of the Kane family. This book is the sixth in the series and great - as all the others have been.

LAPD homicide detective Dan Kane is still reeling and trying to cope with the tragedy of eight months ago, along with other family members.

In this offering, Kane is on a task force trying to catch a serial killer called the Magpie operating in the L.A. area.

Wonderful fully drawn characters (you'll get hooked on this family), vivid descriptions of Malibu and the L.A. area, exciting storyline, and I love the Kane family beach parties as always.
