Andrea Jones is a native of Grenada, Mississippi who has devoted her life to educating others. She holds a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and Public Management and Leadership Certificate from Jackson State University and a Master of Teaching Arts and EducationalSpecialist in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. While employed as a classroom teacher and Instructional Technology Facilitator, Andrea honed her education and training skills and later founded a mobile learning lab, Toot, Teach & Roll, which provides unique experiences for learners of all ages. Additionally, she was a participant in Leadership Greater Jackson’s Class of 2012 and recognized as one of Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40. In 2017, Andrea was recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of the Mississippi’s 50 Leading Businesswomen. Andrea’s work as an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Recruitment strengthened her desire to develop a program that caters to college preparedness. But it was her work with children in the community and guiding her son and-most recently-her daughter-in preparing for college entry that sparked the brainchild that is now The Next Chapter. Andrea believes in lifelong learning and wants to assist other prospective high school graduates in preparing for one of life’s greatest milestones by planning for and choosing the school of higher education most suited to their needs. Currently, Andrea is Executive Director of JSUOnline and works hard to ensure that those who want to learn have access to and exercise their options. However, she makes sure to maintain a great life-work balance by cultivating her creativity through journaling and arts and crafts, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
