From the Author:
Once in awhile in our lives we come across a true story that is so incredible that it boggles the imagination. At least, until we dig deeper and investigate the circumstances, and we come to realize that what at first had amazed and even mesmerized us begins to make sense.
This is one of those stories. It's the story of a man who achieves professional heights not unlike others do in their careers. But then, something extraordinary happens to him, something that some would call chance or fate or even a freak accident, yet which is actually less complex. And far more wondrous.
Dr. Carl Giordano is an extraordinary man. He is a member of a profession that many people believe somehow creates little "gods" by virtue of the fact that what they do is to save lives and improve health. What makes Carl's story so unusual is that, whether by the incidents related this book, or by his upbringing with loving parents, or by his own natural spirit, Carl has an outlook and a spirit that flies somewhere above the pack. He is humble, funny, hardworking, exceptionally intelligent, and has a heart and attitude of caring for people, all of which could be seen as a rarity among his fellow physicians.
So, you will have to decide for yourself whether he lived to tell about an experience that most people would admit there is no way they could have survived, and whether he was able to survive by his own abilities or by the hand of God. Or perhaps a little bit of both. But just know this: he had no choice in what happened, yet he faced it head-on...and he is here to tell you his incredible story.
It is a pleasure and an honor to know Carl Giordano and to have served him in helping put together this amazing true story.
