Vanderlinden has spent more than 25 years collecting and researching FN history and products. He has authored several books and articles on FN firearms and FN factory history. The research for this book took more than seven years and includes the cooperation of FN, the ARS Mechanica Foundation, collectors, and museums. Attention was spent on addressing common misconceptions and detailing factory production processes and historical happenings. During research, Vanderlinden took into consideration the many FN departments and manufacturing lines as well as various historical events that influenced production. This multi-faceted approach has been essential in the discovery of more complex or forgotten facts.
