Kimberley Moran is first and foremost the mother of Felix and Annie. When she was just eleven years old, she set up a daycare center in the small shed next to her summer house. Four young kids came each day to be read to, taken to the library, and taught songs. She has always wanted to raise children. So, she became a teacher first and later a mother. Kimberley is currently an editor at WeAreTeachers.com where she gets to write about teachers, children, and their families. Her writing has appeared on Public Radio International, Good Magazine, MiddleWeb, Brilliant or Insane, and Parent.co. You can find her on her website at kimberleymoran.com.
"I LOVED this book! Not only was it extremely practical and, oh my goodness, so helpful, it was also very well written. I love the fluid approach Moran takes to parenting. The charts were super appealing too (I'm going to try the Unicycle chart). The other parenting books I've read were so directive and definitely seemed to have an unbudgable philosophy at their core, that made it difficult to get behind them. Hacking Parenthood is so accessible."-- Ellen Potter, best selling children's book author
"I didn't know I needed 10 mantras for parenting until I read this book. Now I'm hooked. Hacking Parenthood doesn't properly describe this book. These aren't hacks. They are vital parenting mantras to live by for years. They will guide your parenting through so many tough times. In fact, they will likely minimize the struggles because these mantras provide a mindset that helps avoid some common pitfalls. I absolutely love this book. It's right for a parent of any age child and would make the perfect baby shower gift. I wish I had this book earlier in my parenting career." --Catherine Perlman, PhD, LCSW, author of Ignore It!
"Great book with practical advice for parents, with wisdom that can be applied in all aspects of life. Written with a lot of compassion in a very friendly, engaging way." -- Devorah Blachor, author of The Feminist Guide to Raising a Little Princess
"How does one write a book about parenthood? Does anyone really feel like an expert on this topic? Turns out, expertise matters more than being an expert once again. I truly wish I would have had this book when my own girls were younger, and I plan to buy a bunch of copies for friends who are just getting on this wild ride. Hacking Parenthood is a practical, honest, and humble guide to keeping yourself sane, through even the most challenging parenting moments." -- Angela Stockman, best selling author of Make Writing: 5 Teaching Strategies That Turn Writer's Workshop Into a Maker Space
