About the Author

Pamela Samuels Young is an attorney, anti-trafficking advocate and award-winning author of multiple legal thrillers. Her mystery Anybody’s Daughter won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Fiction and was a Top Ten pick by In the Margins, the best books for at-risk teens. #Abuse of Discretion is the young adult adaptation of her legal thriller Abuse of Discretion. Pamela spent fifteen years as a Managing Counsel for Labor and Employment Law at Toyota. Prior to her legal career, she worked as a television news writer and associate producer. Pamela received her bachelor’s degree from USC and earned graduate degrees from Northwestern University and UC Berkeley School of Law. She is also a natural hair enthusiast and the author of Kinky Coily: A Natural Hair Resource Guide.
