Hiro tried to be like everyone else, a normal teenager. He studied hard to get good grades and avoided parties or any human interaction for that matter. But everything changed on his sixteenth birthday when his parents' old lab assistant gave him a gift. For years, he was told the story of his parents' betrayal. They helped develop cybernetic suits back in the year 2693, which they called Machs, to help clear the radiation left by the last war. Just as the project was about to be completed, they stole the Machs, torched the lab and fled into the night. But now the lab assistant is claiming the government lied to Hiro. His proof? The gift of a completed Mach.
Hiro's world is shattered when he is told the new truth: the government killed his parents and altered their technology to turn them into weapons. For the past sixteen years, they have been working to find individuals capable of piloting the advanced armoured suits, and now they believe their search is over. If the Japanese government succeeds, they plan on unifying what remains of the world under one flag. Hiro now has a choice to make. the Mach he was given was locked to his parents' DNA, making him the only one who can pilot it. But facing off against the unlimited resources of the government could mean losing his life and the lives of anyone he cares about.
