In Pieces: A True Story of Assault, Survival, and Empowerment, Lori Luck recounts her harrowing journey of resilience after childhood trauma. At just ten years old, her life was shattered by an act of betrayal-and compounded by a family's silence that sought to bury the truth. Through unflinching honesty, Luck reveals her battle to come out from behind the mask she'd worn, and reclaim her true voice in the midst of societal judgment and her own inner turmoil. This powerful memoir is not just a story of survival but of empowerment-offering hope, healing, and a testament to the unbreakable human spirit. A poignant reminder: even broken pieces can form something whole.

Lori Luck grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, in a blue-collar neighborhood. Her childhood took a heartbreaking turn at the age of ten when she was sexually assaulted by a family friend. In her memoir, "Pieces," she shares her courageous journey of healing-first from the trauma of the assault, and later from the silence that surrounded it. As an actress, Lori also witnessed the #MeToo movement firsthand, enduring her own incidents of sexual harassment in the TV and film industry, experiences made all the more unsettling by her past. Now a teacher in Calgary, Lori approaches each day with gratitude and resilience.
