Synopsis

Dear Santa, Letters to emailSanta.com Vol. II: The Naughty List Has Never Been This Funny is a hilarious, heartwarming collection of more than 1,000 messages to Santa, selected from millions sent to emailSanta.com over nearly three decades.

Very few people simply admit they've been naughty. They explain. They negotiate. They apologize. They point out technicalities. And when all else fails, they blame their brother, sister, parents, pets or, occasionally, Santa himself.

In this laugh-out-loud companion to Vol. I: 1,000 Hilarious Kids' Letters to Santa, the Naughty List takes centre stage.

From babies creating chaos before they can speak and toddlers discovering the fun of mischief, to children searching for loopholes, teenagers questioning the rules, and adults and grandparents discovering that Santa apparently never stops keeping track, this collection proves one thing:

We don't necessarily become less naughty as we get older. We just get much better at explaining why it wasn't our fault.

The results are wonderfully funny:

"HOW CAN I STOP BEING BAD WHEN IT FEELS FUN"

- Kristen, 6, Georgetown, Kentucky

"I never lie. I just tell the version that makes me look less suspishus."

- Iben, 12, Aarhus, Denmark

Inside this collection, you'll find:

- Hilarious confessions, excuses and loopholes

- Sibling accusations and family rivalries

- Parents, grandparents and pets nominated for the Naughty List

- Teenagers and grown-ups proving that age does not guarantee better behavior

- Unexpectedly sweet moments of honesty, forgiveness and trying to do better

- Funny, wonderfully candid voices from around the world

Special sections even put Santa, the elves, pets, siblings, parents and grandparents on trial for their own place on the Naughty List.

Drawn from more than 50 countries, the letters reveal something Santa may have known all along: most of us are a little naughty, a little nice and remarkably creative when explaining the difference.

This Treasury is Perfect for:

- Families looking for a funny holiday read-aloud

- Parents and grandparents who recognize their own families in the excuses and rivalries

- Secret Santa exchanges, stocking stuffers and Christmas gifts

- Anyone who enjoys family humor and Christmas mischief

The collection began with a simple idea during the 1997 Canadian postal strike, when Alan Kerr created a website so his four-year-old nephew could send his Christmas wish and receive a reply from Santa. What started with one child grew into a worldwide Christmas tradition.

emailSanta.com and its letters have been featured globally by The New York Times, BBC, CBC, CTV, Global News, CNN and Reader's Digest among many others.

Beneath all the laughter and mischief is something unexpectedly warm: mistakes can be forgiven, tomorrow is another chance to do better, and maybe most of us are not Naughty or Nice so much as a little "Nice-Adjacent."
