Synopsis
The play is set in the final numbered days of an orphanage in the Warsaw ghetto in 1942. Based on the life of Dr Janusz Korczak, a much loved writer of children's stories in eastern Europe –his parable about a boy who inherits a kingdom, King Matt enjoys the same status as for example, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe does here. The play has been on the GCSE drama curriculum of two of the qualification boards in England and Wales. Introduction by author. Cast of 9, 7 M, 2 F.
