Throughout his career, Klee remained dedicated to color theory practice while he experimented with materials and Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Abstract Expressionist, Cubist and Futurist concepts. Paul Klee eventually became an instructor at the Bauhaus and Düsseldorf Academy and was a member of the artistic movement called the Die Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider).
