The immigrant rights movement is one of the most dynamic social movements in the United States. In the spring of 2006, across the country millions of mostly Latino immigrants participated in some of the largest civil rights demonstrations in American history. About the Author

Chris Zepeda-Millán received his Ph.D. from the Department of Government at Cornell University and is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Public Policy and Chicana/o Studies at UCLA. His research on immigration, social movements, Latino and racial politics has been published in top political science and interdisciplinary journals.
