This second edition of Advanced Safety Management: Focusing on Z10 and Serious Injury Prevention provides detailed guidance for all organizations on how to meet the provisions of the revised ANSI Z10-2012 standard and presents innovations on how to reduce serious injuries and fatalities. Content of the first edition has been updated and expanded. Four additional chapters have been added, reflecting current research and trends in the practice of safety. They are:
- Macro Thinking: The Socio-Technical Model
- Safety Professionals as Culture Change Agents
- Prevention through Design
- A Primer on System Safety
Additional emphasis is given and much new material is presented for Management of Change, Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention, and Human Error Avoidance and Reduction. A thorough review is given of all of the provisions in the revised version of Z10.
About the Author
FRED A. MANUELE, CSP, PE, is President of Hazards Limited, a company he formed after retiring from Marsh & McLennan, where he was a Managing Director. His experience in the practice of safety spans several decades. He is a Certified Safety Professional and a Registered Professional Engineer. Mr. Manuele was awarded the honor of Fellow by the American Society of Safety Engineers and was given the Distinguished Service to Safety award by the National Safety Council. In 2013, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals recognized his accomplishments through a Lifetime Achievement Award.
