Synopsis

You are the CEO of My Wealth, Inc. -- so Take Charge! This book is a timeless classic - from choosing an advisor to fulfilling your responsibilities as CEO of My Wealth, Inc., here is practical guidance. You will be a far smarter investor, NOT by learning the jargon but by insisting on clearer communications from your advisor.
Wall Street veteran Charlotte Beyer takes you on a tour of the wealth management industry, guiding you through the complexities with straightforward, no-nonsense expertise.
By stripping away industry jargon and the all-too-common self-promotion, you will:
  • Understand the difference between advisor and money manager
  • Learn the best questions to ask when interviewing an advisor
  • Dissect fee disclosure statements and conflicts of interest
  • Find out whether you should be a do-it-yourself investor and learn if that might makes better sense for your personality (or not!)
The wealth management industry has undergone massive change over the past 25 years. New products spring up, and marketing hype leaves you with precious little practical information. Wealth Management Unwrapped is like a powerful GPS, offering you a much clearer view of how to fully realize the dreams and goals your wealth now affords you.

About the Author

A Wall Street veteran and entrepreneur, Charlotte Beyer has been identifying changes in the culture and dynamics of wealth management since 1992. After selling her company and retiring as CEO in 2012, Beyer founded the Principle Quest Foundation, a 501c3 foundation whose mission is to support innovative education and mentoring programs for women. Her career spans 40+ years, first on Wall Street, and then as founder of the Institute for Private Investors [IPI] in 1992. For two decades Beyer earned the trust of the 1500 investor members by protecting the safe harbor, education and community inside that private membership organization. An Aresty Fellow of the Wharton School, Beyer continues to teach in Wharton's Private Wealth Management program, a five-day residential curriculum she co-created with Wharton in 1999. Since then 1100 principals/families with substantial assets have attended from 52 countries and 42 states. A graduate of Hunter College, Beyer is a lifetime trustee of the Westover School, an all-girls school, Beyer was featured in the Wall Street Journal Donor of the Day column in 2011.
