From dust jacket notes: "...The Korean Taekwondo Association has devoted itself to developing and disseminating the skills, techniques and philosophy of Taekwondo which resulted in the formation of the World Taekwondo Federation and the opening of the First World Taekwondo Championship Competitions held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1973 in which more than forty countries participated. Concurrently, the Association has streamlined and conducted a series of scientific researches on Taekwondo. The Poomse, the first English version of the Taekwondo textbook, covers the outcome of these efforts. The World Taekwondo Federation is very happy to publish this textbook on the occasion of the Second World Taekwondo Championship to be held at the Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Center) in 1975."
