Robert V. Daniels is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Vermont and a leading American Sovietologist. His many books include: A Documentary History of Communism, Red October, and Russia―the Roots of Confrontation. He has been on the editorial board of the Journal of Modern History and was President of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies in 1992.
