Why has the Church of England separated from the communion of the Church of Rome? £ltt0fctt Because that Church does not allow the Scriptures to be a sufficient rule for faith and practice; (adding thereto many human inventions which are, in themselves, superstitious, idolatrous and vain,) although it be the command of Goo that evĞry thing, in religion, be examined by his own word, which, alone, is the revelation of hie will. It is written "to the Law and to the Testimony; if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them;"1 and, "all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."2 "in holy Scripture is fully contained what we ought to do, and what to eschew, what to believe, wbat to love, and what to look for at God's bands at length.
