"Good," said Jackson, before hurrying back to the "Hermitage" to prepare for church. "I guess your pa can go easy to church," said Aunt Barbara, as they began to dress for going out. "He has no feedin' of animals to keep him late, eh?" she queried, remembering how her husband had to hurry his chores so as to be on time. "Why, papa scarcely ever goes to church, Aunt Barbara." "Ach, not go. Why for your ma not make him go, my child? I heerd already that in the city not many mans go to church. Ach! Ach! But sure your ma goes?" Old Tobias and the cat did not object to the disaster "Well, Aunt Barbara not every Sunday, for her social and home duties are so heavy that she is tired on Sunday."
