Excerpt: ... lor eight days. The tumor commenced to shrink, and fell off after three weeks. Dr. Stens, Sr. Mental Symptoms.-- These are well marked, peculiar, characteristic. The most important are: "Full of suppressed grief, seems to be weighed down by it-- broods over imaginary troubles;" sadness and sighing; fright followed by sadness; symptoms change often from joy to sadness; ailments from grief, disappointed affection or suppressed mental emotion. Prof. S. A. Jones adds to these, "a torrent of words pour out of the mind, and the confusion of the writing is caused by the profusion of thinking." Vertigo.-- In many cases of dizziness we find it useful, particularly when accompanied with a weak, faint feeling at the pit of the stomach. Case DVI. An aged woman over-sensitive against external impressions; spinal affection (paralysis, fixed pain in the spine); habitual constipation (sedentary habit); right half of the body the weakest side; periodical fits of vertigo intolerable, with intolerable pain in back following; slightest motion of the head, especially stooping, increases vertigo; gastric symptoms; gaping; coated tongue; anaemia; tingling as of ants; jerkings; heaviness of right arm which had been paralyzed. Ignatia 3 cured. Dr. Gonllon. Case DVII. In consequence of a reverse of fortune, a lady, a vendress of linen goods was suddenly attacked with a continued fever. Neither Aconite, Bry., Nux or Jilms, produced any relief, but Ignatia 24m entirely cured. Dr. Dulac. Traumatic Delirium.--Dr. Gilchrist suggests Ignatia for great tendency to start; boldness; the slightest contradiction irritates; ill-humor and anger, impatience, irresoluteness; quarrelsome; intolerance of noise; sadness; weeping and laughing almost in one breath; sweat on the face; face pale, red...
