About the Author:
Geboren am 29.04.1824 in Breslau, gestorben am 27.11.1878 in Berlin. Brachvogel war der Sohn eines Kaufmanns; er brach mehrere Ausbildungen ab (Buchhändler, Graveur, Bildhauer und Schauspieler). Er studierte ab 1847 in Breslau Gechichte, Literaturgeschichte, Ästethik und Philosophie. Nach Abbruch des Studiums schrieb er Operntexte, arbeitete als Theathersekretär und war zuletzt freier Schriftsteller.
