Synopsis

This study revealed limited research on conducting effective faculty meetings. The literature review indicated meetings were not productive, unproductive meetings wasted time, leaders lacked training, skills, and knowledge on how to conduct effective meetings, and experienced educators noted dissatisfaction with their faculty meetings. Meeting frameworks of 3 business models were examined to identify common components of successful meetings and determined the extent those components were present in faculty meetings of high-achieving schools of poverty. Teacher surveys, principal interviews, faculty meeting agendas, and observations of faculty meetings provided data for the study. Findings from this study were used to develop a framework for designing and conducting high-quality faculty meetings.
