A fully updated guide to vital structural engineering principles and design techniques
For 50 years, this internationally-renowned handbook has been the go-to reference for structural engineering specifications, codes, technologies, and procedures. The book has been revised to align with the regulations that govern structural design and materials, such as the IBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 37, ACI, AISC, AASHTO, NDS, and TMS. Concise, practical, and user-friendly, this one-of-a-kind resource contains practical examples and detailed descriptions of today’s design methods.
Featuring discussions from a variety of experts, Structural Engineering Handbook, Fifth Edition gives you up-to-the-minute information on the planning, design, and construction of a variety of engineered structures. New topics covered include sustainability, non-destructive testing, BIM, design of special structures, fire engineering, and progressive collapse. Up-to-date data tables provide reputable information on material properties that can be used to verify computer-based calculations.
·Explains the codes and standards that structural engineers use in their daily work·Includes data tables related to material strength, construction measurements, structural load capacity, and more·Serves as a study guide when preparing for the FE, PE, or SE Exams
